What I do
As an independent midwife I offer one-off appointments or packages of holistic and personalised antenatal and postnatal midwifery care and support and one-off or packages of complementary therapy treatments including aromatherapy, massage, acupressure, moxibustion, and clinical reflexology, all of which will sit alongside and enhance your standard NHS midwifery care.
My complementary therapy treatments can help with general relaxation and stress relief, preparation for birth, postdates and overdue pregnancy, encouraging the onset of labour, avoiding medical induction of labour and turning a breech (bottom first) baby or, they can be specifically targeted to treat a range of pregnancy related symptoms and aches and pains, such as morning sickness, heartburn, backache, sciatica, pelvic girdle pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle and leg oedema (swelling), constipation, haemorrhoids and postnatal recovery.
Appointments are in Great Harwood in the cosy 'Snug' at Tessa Clemson Yoga or alternatively, if you prefer me to take away the stress of you having to travel or rush around to get to an appointment I can come to your home. I can cover most areas in Rossendale, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Blackburn, Burnley, Rochdale, Bury and Todmorden. There will be no extra charge for locations within 10 Miles of BB4 9 or BB7 6. Outside of this a charge of 45p per mile will be added to your chosen appointment cost.
Why choose Pregnancy Therapies?
I provide a unique and specialist service. Unlike other complementary therapy services I am a qualified and experienced practising midwife who has completed additional training in midwifery specific complementary therapies. With this unique combination of both midwifery and complementary therapy knowledge and experience I am able to fully understand your pregnancy, along with any pregnancy or existing medical conditions you might be suffering from, how they impact on your pregnancy and how complementary therapy treatments may affect your pregnancy or existing conditions. This enables me to better provide you with the appropriate advice, support and treatments that are safe for both you and your baby.
More information about the services and treatments I offer can be found in the services section or alternatively head to the contact us page for details of how to get in touch by phone, text message or email if you have any questions or want to discuss how I can help you further.
